Undergrad done - Beacon Vlei 2016

I completed my undergraduate in management information systems (BSc Informatics) in May.
I received my results and passed my degree with distinction. Yay me. I have been studying part time for ~8 years and disappeared for a weekend to celebrate.

The farmhouses at Beacon Vlei are beautiful, looked after, and on the shore of a dam.

KZN Tala Lodge Private Game Reserve

Tala Lodge Private Game Reserve is a reserve 45 minutes from Durban city. I was invited to attend a team building weekend for a company department I worked with in the past. I have been taking photos for the department for the past 4 years.

The lodge is situated on a 3000 hectare piece of land. You will find rhino, giraffe, wildebeest and a number of other animals. The staff are friendly and accommodating and the food is quality.
It is the perfect place to quickly escape the city owing to its short distance.

Sub-Sahara Africa

I am in the middle of installing a single instance database, a Middleware server and an EDI server (along with their DR counter parts) for an organisation in North Africa. I aim to finish by Wednesday before I embark on a weekend tour of Mozambique. And by tour I mean riding a quad bike across the forgotten dunes of Ponta Do Ouro, armed with my camera and drinking rum out of a jar. The project I am working has been 12 hours a day but a pleasant break away from Clusterware and a good lead up to the coming trip.
